I know they say this movie deals with deep rooted racism. How about the irony of racists needing a body of a race they feel superior to, to gain superior attributes. Most racists wouldn't want a drop of black blood in their body, and they took on the whole physical form. Envy and admiration come to mind here. However the callous disregard to a race for self preservation is where the racism comes in. I think a combination of that has a lot to do with our current political climate with respect to racial tensions.

I would have to say regarding the issue of feeling uncomfortable being a black person in a group of white people speaks a huge amount about how a black person feels about being black period, it's not just the idea that the white people may be racist or unaware of how best to communicate but also the fact that a black person may feel inadequate communicating or even being able to control a conversation in order to steer it towards a more rewarding subject, I used to feel uncomfortable in such situations, but I now know a lack of self confidence and the slightest degree of depression can bring about feelings of fear which twist the perception to experience the negative aspects of ones own sphere of reality, no matter how much somebody may dislike you or point hatred in your direction it is still down to you as an individual to combat the effects and remember the negative of thoughts of attack which manifest as racism hatred fear and so on are exactly that, an attack on the psyche.
