Mad TV didnt want to let him out of his contract because they knew by having him they had the goose that laid the golden egg. With Peele on the cast, they had the cats pajamas. I mean it was scummy sure..but in business, when you have lightning in a bottle, you don't just give it away,son. Peele did his own thing either way though and put opposing producers in their place and off their high horses..and becoming a successful producer with an extremely creative brain,he put those pussies on the chainwax.

I can agree with Peele regarding the MADTV producers. I still like the show itself, but its producers are jerks. Peele is a funny enough guy to make it despite his setbacks, and he didn’t need MADTV to succeed.

I’m not a fan of the show’s beginning. I started liking MadTV when most of the original cast left. The cartoons bore me and the ideas used in skits didn’t make me laugh.

Get Out is a recent classic yes Us isn’t. Then he comes to be dealing with the third remake of The Twilight Zone. Remakes of remakes, or remakes of remakes of remakes, is the worst thing to ever do no matter who makes them and who stars in them...........and now another Candyman with the original actor. He needs to make films where he doesn’t look like the next filmmaker that will end up doing rehashes of things before. It is an unattractive formula. Tim Burton does it often and it’s tiringggggggg (a prime example).

It bothers me a lot that MadTV had such talented people over the years that couldn't make it. Wished SNL had took them just so they could make them known.

It would have been professional courtesy to let Peele out, but I can understand Mad TV not wanting to be used a s a ladder to a competitor.

I like madtv but didn’t care for Jordan Peele. Who knows if Saturday Night Live would have made him a big star? I don’t really think he is that great, I don’t care how many shows, movies or projects he was involved with. Anyway, I don’t know if it was possible for him to get out of his contract without being sued? If you sign a contract you agreed to the terms.

I know Key & Peele are both their own men with their own careers and projects now, but I wonder if their bond is as strong as what it was when they saw success together. I'd hate to see such a successful teamwork end in negative light. Both brought out the best in each other and such a dynamic duo hadn't been seen in decades.

I would like to bet that Peele today would see SNL as a step backwards when measuring his success.

2 out of 10 skits were funny on SNL. 7 out of 10 skits were funny on MadTV.

Plus MadTV was not utilizing Peele to his full talent capacity. Peele, in my opinion, has always been way too gifted for the extremely dumb (sometimes offensive) roles MadTV had him playing.

SNL sure was a college for comedians. Except most never graduated. And their crap was mostly half-baked garbage with the actors laughing at their own jokes. MadTV wasn't live, but much more polished. Do I wanna guinea pig your crap? I'm sure the live audience loved all of whatever it is you did, but at home, it was awful to watch.

yeah that is bullshit. madtv didn't really need him. Phil LaMarr for example had better appearance but left so early. One thing I can't deny. Non of the madtv cast members achieved anything outside of madtv. Maybe he got a good point with that.
