Bursting onto the scene with his debut feature film 'Get Out' in 2018, Jordan Peele has become Hollywood's most promising directors. He tells Marc Fennell what inspired his love for scary movies and the inherent 'otherness' of horror.

He's so much nicer than the annoying characters he tends to play in K&P sketches lol (but of course all his characters, even the annoying ones, are genius)

Jordan Peele is an amazing person. He's gotta be in my top 5 or 10 of people I'd love to meet. Hope he makes more horror films.

I feel like he’s in one of his professional characters. “Spit the marbles out please”

Such a good interview! Kudos to the interviewer for asking fresh related questions, and for having good chemistry with Jordan!

*SPOILER ALERT🚨: Cory Hardrict is rumored to star in the next GET OUT sequel lets make this happen...*

Hey interviewer, we clicked the video for Jordan Peele not you. Let him answer and nothing you add gives any value to his answer.

Half Breed!
Jaar geledenNaturallyB
Key and Peele??? What about MAD T.V that came out way before that show?
Jaar geledenOcelot4R
I feel like Jordan Peele is keeping a beard now just to make a mockery of how most film directors look or how we would generally expect them to look. I might be wrong but this guy mocks everything so I wouldn't be surprised. LOL
Jaar geledenjuanita dark
Maybe it will disappear when he feels like less of an outsider director?
Jaar geledenAbel Tesfaye
@Ocelot4R Oh! Gotcha - it's funny to think if he is mocking them. He did say everything he does is "deliberate" so perhaps this is too
Jaar geledenOcelot4R
@Abel Tesfaye No, most film directors have beards. Jordan Peele used to be clean shaven most of the time before he became a director.
Jaar geledenAbel Tesfaye
Are most film directors clean shaven or not? I'm confused by your comment. Haha

How was get out scary 😐😐 i saw one part unsettling but never scary

As a "Black" artist... oh here we go.
Jaar geledenGeo Helios
@juanita dark I think your of shit and black ego, now go make your husband a sandwich and be quiet, that's if you even have a husband.
Jaar geledenjuanita dark
SlLVERFAWKES lol, Or maybe you're just full of shit for reasons best known to yourself. His being Black has clearly impacted his identity and allowed him to tell the kind stories he's telling because of his experiences as a Black person. You just want to miss his point so you can claim it has no meaning, just skip the disingenuous crocodile tears about it.
Jaar geledenxo niya__
Well he says that bc back then ppl would think less in black ppl and think ppl couldn’t think anything so yes as a black person it is pretty cool so you can stfu😙😑🖕🏽
Jaar geledenGeo Helios
@juanita dark But is He really black though? Or is He a human being with genes that have more melanin? And since when does melanin effect a persons creativity? I thought that the right side of the human brain handled that. But that's fine I guess, play "Black Ego" because its been working now for a while for people who like to say they're "Black" like its some kind of disability and strength at the same time.
Jaar geledenjuanita dark
SlLVERFAWKES Why the quotes? He is Black, and he is an artist.
Jaar geledenKaren Elizabeth
When he said that he was scared of being left devastated if he tried going after his dreams only to fail... I felt that man
Jaar geledenroro dawg
Karen Elizabeth you’ll also be devastated if you don’t try. you can fail at something you don’t want, just as much as something you don’t want
Jaar geledenBeard of Horrors
I know he’s light skin but I didn’t know he was biracial

You gotta start at mad tv not key and peele! Disrespectful lol
Jaar geledenNaya
Yeeees I love being scared I’m a scream giggler. I appreciate him he made a horror film that creeped me out with no gore🤷🏽♀️that’s never happened. Brilliant
Jaar geledenJulian Echelon
The interviewer should fire whoever did his makeup. He looks cakey and have this weird yellow undertone that doesn’t match his neck and chest
Jaar geledenjerrij4242
They were good questions, but iidn't care for the conclusion of that interview. B

It was James Wan and Mike Flanagan...now Ari Aster and Jordan Peele
Jaar geledenMichael T. Paulo
I couldn’t agree with you more into the sense of Flanagan is basically the same as Carpenter. “Doctor Sleep” will definitely be the film that will make his name “out there” with its Steven king adaptation. Aster blows me away the most as made a his first feature film “Hereditary” and now a year later has another film in the process. He’s young and obviously talented; potentially will be a master in filmmaking
Jaar geledenWord Unheard
Make no mistake, it's STILL Mike Flanagan. He has yet to make his definitive movie. But when he does, he'll be a household name. He reminds me so much of John Carpenter, in the sense that he makes great movies, but they aren't as appreciated when they come out, as they are a while after the fact. Mike Flanagan has a masterpiece or three in him. Right now, he's in his comfort zone. He's adapting other's works (Stephen King, Shirley Jackson). He's slowly building up his Hollywood cred. I think Doctor Sleep, which comes out this year, will make people take notice. The ones who haven't already taken notice of the near perfect The Haunting of Hill House. The fact that he writes, directs, and edits his movies just blows me away. Any of those three tasks are difficult to pull off. But he perfectly executes all three, and everything you see in his movies is 100% his handy work. Sorry for rambling, but I agree with you on Ari Aster and Jordan Peele. They are bringing the horror genre into a new light, and it's finally getting the respect it deserves.

Is that music from THE SIMS (?!) in the background? Damn. :D
Jaar geledensad or stupid
You notice how hes so energized to share his movie??? ive seen junkets and interviews with celebs and directors and they all act like promoting this movie is above them. but he has passion, even in just selling it
Jaar geledenNXRTH
@juanita dark But he also is a brilliant director.
Jaar geledenjuanita dark
Art Hoe Well, he just said that he at one point didn't think the competitive directing field had room for him or people like him, so he thought his dream job was unattainable. Then he's given the opportunity to do that job and give voice to his ideas. In short, he reconises and appreciates the opportunity to direct, as opposed to presuming the job was his because he's a brilliant director.
Jaar geledenJacob Dominguez
Great interview 👍
Jaar geledenSpawn
I remember watching some of the more terrifying sketches on Key and Peele and being amazed at how intense and well crafted they were...had no idea that he was behind most of them. That 'Make A Wish' sketch with the evil boy in a hospital bed was nothing short of genius.
Jaar geledenThe Electrician
Voodoo Yeah, have you seen that messed up one where the producer of “Family Matters” and the guy who plays the Dad are arguing? It’s so tense and the acting is amazing. It’s dark in the most delicious way.
Jaar geledenArtGod
It’s so dope to see someone take things to a different level.
Jaar geledenJake Shewchuk
jordan peele talking like hes emotionless lmao
Jaar geledenYLN Bando
Crazy how he can make you laugh and get scared at the same time.
Jaar geledensai naresh
Dude, my uncle told me, "People who can make you laugh can pull out any emotion out of us; be it horror, grief, etc"
3 maanden geledenBecca Hawkins
Yeah, it's pretty cool. Comedy and horror are two sides of the same coin in that both rely on the element of surprise or play on people's expectations.
Jaar geledenYLN Bando
*160K subscribed and only 600 views in 6 hours that’s terrible.*
Jaar geledenYLN Bando
*So is the duo over are they no longer making skits? Key and Peele.?* I hope not they are a amazing duo.
Jaar geledenJames Furfaro
Key & Peele, the tv show is done. But they'll team up for future projects similar to Keanu & they're parts in Toy Story 4.
Jaar geledenFoolsNeedButter
4Tolls They’re team again in the new Toy Story at least :D
Jaar geleden99sandthe2000s
great interview ... I am fascinated by him and so I have watched a good number of interviews but I appreciate that you bypassed the standard questions and that the questions you asked and his responses gave me a better understanding of why horror is important to him and where that appreciation for the genre stemmed from.
