Michael Schumacher hands down is one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time. With 7 titles and 91 wins, Schumacher is statistically the second most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. Michael Schumacher drove for 19 and a half seasons if we are being exact which also makes him one of the most experienced drivers ever. And although Michael's terrible skiing accident in 2013 has taken him out of the public eye, Schumacher will always be remembered for his immense skill and ability behind the wheel. The only way you can describe his racing career is all or nothing, he could only be the best. Keep Fighting Michael.

whatever Lewis has won barring poles is after taking more no of race entries than Michael Schumacher infact Michael Schumacher's no of fastest laps is yet to be equalled by LewisHamilton comparison should always be made by the race entry no - when the record was set, equalled & broken , Lewis is behind on all counts barring poles

For me the greatest driver ever in F1 is Jim Clark. I wasn't even born when he died, but he was the only driver where if other drivers in that period were asked who the best was they immediately said "Jimmy".... Perhaps Fangio had the same in his time but he had Stirling Moss to race who was also highly regarded. Schumacher perhaps comes close for being the best allround (driver and teambuilder) .... Ask current F1 drivers to name the best and they will keep silent, perhaps give a top three in which they put Lewis, Max and themselves ....

My time growing up watching F1 was filled with Michael's dominance in the first half of the 2000's. He and Ferrari were the reasons why I stuck around as a fan to this day. I think the 96, 97 seasons are enough to call him the greatest, the fact he even dragged the 1996 version of the sf1000 to 3 wins is impressive but putting the 1997 version of the f2012 in the lead of the championship is what makes him legendary, I honestly hope lewis gets to experience something like this so that comparisons can be equal

Regarding GOAT debates between Hamilton & Schumacher. Younger people will remember Schumacher from his Mercedes comeback. This will have led to closer comparisons between him and Hamilton, because Rosberg was the teammate driver to both. Whether it's a fair comparison is up for debate. The near fatal neck injury Schumacher had, and the consequences of this on his subsequent abilities, raise a question mark over later performances, and what he could have achieved without. It was around Belgium 2010, in Schumacher's comeback season, when Andrew Benson published an article. He mentioned that the 1st career Schumacher, if the cars were all the same shape and painted the same, could be spotted by the way he went into/through corners. The comeback Schumacher had lost this unique feature and was now the same as all the others. Benson mentioned something interesting, that the balance had gone, perhaps in his ears. When Alonso's comeback was announced the other year, the Motorsport magazine had a thread in the comments of an article, where the writer of it strongly defended Schumacher's return performances, based on the negative effects the neck injury had on them. This was brought up in the discussion of age related decline, because that's what the article was written on. What age performance starts to drop off will vary from person to person, but it will largely be similar, providing injuries don't get in the way. Schumacher's 40+ was surely something else against him when going up against Rosberg. Interesting to note, that if reliability is removed from the picture in 2012, for Schumacher's final season, the points gap between Schumacher and Rosberg would have been too close to call. In a hypothetical scenario, take out the neck injury, and rewind 13 or 14 years from Schumacher's age, who would have come out on top between both drivers? Remember, Schumacher's teammate was the same Rosberg who would challenge Hamilton.

Michael is by far the greatest! Purley because of how he got a complete team to work with him, & also how he made both Benetton & Ferrari world champions. He also help to lay the foundations for the great achivements Merc has today. Hamilton is a great driver, but he has allways come to a cowered table, at both McLaren & Mercedes, no other driver in the modern history, has had a car capable of winning in his entire career, that is why he will never even come close to Michael"s achivements in my opinion :)

Michael Schumacher made me fall in love with F1 for the first time. Almost a kind of 'puppy love' when you think nothing can surpass it. After not having followed F1 for a decade, I fell back in love in the fall of 2019 and have grown a deep appreciation for the sport. I've learned more about the history, technological developement, aerodynamics and all of which makes F1 truly the pinnacle of motorsports. I've grown to a place where I'm able to appreciate the greatness of Hamilton even though Schumacher is my no.1 and my team is Ferrari - for better or for worse. Being able to dive into the depths of F1, from Farina to Hamilton, from leather caps and goggles to halo and fireproof suits, have really been a blessing in this era of lockdown and social distancing. And that came because I watched this german guy drive a red car some 20 years ago.

When someone says "greatest Formula 1 driver of all time" my head automatically remembers *Michael Schumacher* but remembers that Lewis eclipsed everything MSC ever did, without attempted murder of his rivals, beat MSC's better who is a 2-time defending champion in his debut season, almost won his rookie season, losing out by 1 point, then won the chip the very next season, he wasn't born rich like Latifi, Stroll, Mazepin or (I'm f*****g gonna say it) Norris, combined with with the pressure of debating why black lives should matter as much as everyone else's lives while defending and winning a record equaling 7th title, achieving 100 poles, 98 wins, and being told he's only won because of his car, when his teammate was lapped on his' way to WDT #7, after qualifying P8 behind Lance Stroll on Pole, then he won three races he arguably shouldn't have won considering the Red Bull was the better car in early 2021 and his teammate in the same car crashed out of a race fighting a Williams, the definitively worse car besides Haas in 2021, on pace in 2021, despite winning Championships with 2 teams and Seb becoming the founder and origin of the of SπŸ…±οΈinnalla meme the second he left Red Bull despite being claimed as the next MSC, but is now only a few seconds away from defending his place from the literal next MSC (mick) in a car dubbed as the pink, now green Mercedes, and doing all of this while not being born 'white' or 'white passing', and he's the first black driver to ever be in F1, I think it's obvious who is my subjective G.O.A.T. and my Objective G.O.A.T. It's Lewis Hamilton by a country fucking mile, no question, no debate no comparison. I do not care to entertain your defenses, views, nor criticisms on this matter. If you disagree, you are objectively incorrect and subjectively mislead, end of story, if anyone ever beats Hamilton's records/acolades and happens to be 'white' or 'white passing' I have no problem recanting this perspectiveargument/statement, but until then your voice, opinion and critiques do not matter at all.

I became an F1 fan thanks to Schumi. He will always be my favorite sportman. But even I have to recognize Fangio as the greatest of all time. What he achieved back then, I think it holds more merit... because he was the only driver to achieve that level of success for 3 decades. Nowadays, F1 had 3 dominating multiple world champions in the last 2 decades (MSC, VET, HAM). That clearly shows that, when it comes to winning, consistency is not as driver dependant as it was before... having a dominating team is what matters. Adding to that, Fangio won all his tittles with 4 different teams (impossible to replicate in current times). Some may say he always drove for the better team/car... some of us think his cars were great because he was the one at the steering wheel.

Different eras have their own characteristics. Think about how much more reliable and lasting modern F1 cars are now compared to the 60's, 70's or 80's. Back in the days "DNF's" were common and really impacted on the winning ability. The combination of "greater reliability" and "younger talent" joining F1 much earlier in the aging cycle is the reasoning for the ability to win more titles, more poles and podiums. In this aspect, the new and pending Hamilton record is or will be less impressive. Likewise, you cannot win more than 7 titles just because you were young and hand great cars. I think there is no "all time great driver" but a rather an exclusive club with the names of Fangio, Clark, Lauda, Prost, Senna, Schumacher and Hamilton. Names like Moss, Stewart, Piquet, Vettel, Mansell, Haekkinen represent greatness & excellency in their time but they are not part of the elite.

Michael Schumacher is hands down the greatest of all time his natural speed, skill, talent, smooth and yet aggressive and hard racing style and work ethic is simply untouchable I strongly believe the way Michael achieved his success especially his 7 world titles was greater than anyone else had ever achieved in any sport He didn’t always have the best car to get the job done but even that didn’t stop him from winning titles without the best car in seasons like 1994 1995 2000 2001 and 2003 I know other people or should I say snow flakes would disagree with me but quite frankly I know that I’m right in what I’m saying only people with brains would agree with me Michael has been my hero ever since I started watching f1 which I’ve been watching all my life and it’s all thanks to Michael that I fell in love with motorsport To be honest there’s only 3 other racers in all of motorsport that could come close to Michael Schumacher and those other 3 racers are Jim Clark, Juan Manuel Fangio and Valentino Rossi The great Michael Schumacher will always hold and extra special place in my heart he was the best of the best and he will stay there too there will be no one else to touch him His personality was amazing too he was funny very kind and a very loving family man and truly dedicated in doing what he did best racing to the max for the ultimate glory Keep fighting Michael
